Marty Ratcliff Photography is a full-service photography studio located on the north shore of New Orleans, Louisiana, in Slidell, and specializing in wedding, engagement, family and corporate portraits throughout south Louisiana and the Gulf Coast areas. In addition, we offer both traditional and one-of-a-kind personalized high school senior portraits, prom photos, sports photography, and newborn baby photography.
Our goal is to provide a memorable experience that delivers beautiful and artistic photographs that you’ll enjoy for generations to come. We guarantee our work and put absolute customer satisfaction as our ultimate measure of success in any project.
We opened a new 1600 square foot “loft” studio in February, 2013, at 2800 Gause Boulevard East — a quiet, professional office environment located on a small, picturesque lake that is home to a variety of ducks and frequented by migratory fowl passing through south Louisiana. Please come by for a visit and allow us an opportunity to show you around our unique facility and to acquaint you with the photography services we provide.
Marty Ratcliff (owner & pricincipal photographer) retired in 2012 from a 34-year career in the computer business working in sales & marketing with IBM in New Orleans for 23 years followed by 11 years as Marketing Manager with Avnet, Inc, an IBM distributor. Prior to his corporate career, Marty was an officer in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany and in Texas. It was while stationed in Germany for several years that Marty got his start in photography with a Mamiya 35mm film camera, and his enthusiasm & passion for photography have continued to grow as recent digital technology has evolved to become the tool of choice for most professional photographers.
While his photographic interests until a few years ago were principally documentary or photojournalistic styles, since 2010 Marty has been studying photography as art. He is a member of Professional Photographers of America, Professional Photographers of Louisiana, Southwest PPA, Wedding & Portrait Photographers International, and the Texas Professional Photographers Association (multi-state affiliation) and continues formalized, on-going study of wedding & portrait photography styles and techniques practiced and taught by photographers from throughout the United States and internationally.
Marty has been married to his wife Susan since 1973, and they have 3 daughters, 3 granddaughters, and a new grandson.
Tracey Ratcliff Scharf (photographer) has joined Marty Ratcliff Photography bringing a naturally artistic, creative approach to photography after having lived and worked in Baton Rouge for thirteen years and then returning to Slidell in early 2012. She became interested in digital photography as a tool for artistic expression in 2010 when she acquired her first 35mm Nikon DSLR.
Tracey is married to Matthew Scharf and has a 8-year-old daughter, Kayla, who serves as a never-ending source of creativity and posing techniques, and a 1-year-old son, Stanley, who keeps her on her toes.
